Vivo X200 confirmed to launch on October 14: Company reveals design details

The year is about to end, but some significant launches are yet to happen. The iQOO 13, OnePlus 13, and the M4 Macs are all scheduled to launch before this year ends. Another such launch is that of Vivo’s flagship X200 series. Vivo has confirmed that the launch will take place on October 14. Ahead of the scheduled launch, Vivo has officially unveiled the front design of its upcoming Vivo X200 series, following a teaser of its back design last week. The product’s unveiling was shared by Vivo’s Product Manager, Han Boxiao, on Weibo, where a side-by-side comparison with the previous Vivo X100 highlighted key design changes.
Notably, the Vivo X200 will feature flat edges, reminiscent of the Galaxy S24 series, marking a shift from its predecessor’s curved edges and display. The new front design includes a flat display surrounded by extremely thin bezels, giving the device a sleek and modern look. The metal frame of the X200 also includes visible antenna bands running along its sides. While the standard model will adopt the flat screen, rumours suggest that the X200 Pro will retain the curved display found in earlier models.

In terms of colours, the Vivo X200 will debut in two confirmed options: a blue variant with a wave-like pattern and a white model with a textured back. However, speculations indicate the possibility of additional colours, including Titanium and Midnight Black. At the rear, the X200 will carry over the large circular camera module from the X100 series, continuing its partnership with ZEISS for the camera system.

The display size of the Vivo X200 remains a subject of discussion. While previous leaks suggested a more compact 6.3-inch display, the recent teaser suggests a size closer to the X100’s 6.78-inch screen. This has led to rumours of a smaller Vivo X200 Mini model being part of the lineup.
The Vivo X200 series is set to launch on October 14th in China, and the lineup is expected to include the Vivo X200 Pro and potentially the X200 Mini. A global release is anticipated at a later date.
In parallel with the phone’s launch, Vivo has also made headlines with the release of its Funtouch OS 15, which is based on the Android 15 beta. Vivo is among the first manufacturers to roll out an Android 15-based OS, even ahead of Google and Samsung. The new operating system brings advanced algorithms, improved animations, and AI-powered features to select Vivo and iQOO devices. The Funtouch OS 15 update has already been deployed to the iQOO 12, with the update rolling out to Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, Vivo X100, and Vivo X100 Pro by mid-October.
